Eligibility for Admission
B.Tech Admission 2011-12
Marian Engineering College is a member of the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements' Association which is a fraternity registered under Travancore, Cochin, Literary, Scientific & Charitable Societies, Registration Act, 1955 No. ER 1977. The Association functions as a voluntary self-regulatory agency ensuring quality technical education, without compromising social justice. The College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to the University of Kerala. The Engineering Courses offered are of 8 semester duration, leading to the award of the B. Tech Degree of the University of Kerala.
Nationality
Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission to Professional courses unless otherwise notified.
Academic
a.Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/Bio-technology/Biology put together are eligible for admission.
b. No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted.
Age
Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2011. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit.
Application Forms
The Brochure and the Application Form can be obtained from the College Office on payment of Rs. 300 or can be downloaded from here. In the case of downloaded applications, the application fee of Rs. 300 is to be remitted by Demand Draft drawn from any Bank or Exchange Company anywhere in the world, favoring 'The Manager, Marian Engineering College', payable at Trivandrum. It can also be paid through Net Banking Facility to the Credit of SB ACCOUNT NO: 0179-01208771-190001 (IFSC CODE: CSBK0000179) with THE CATHOLIC SYRIAN BANK LTD., KAZHAKUTTOM, TRIVANDRUM OR SB ACCOUNT NO: 0379053000001436 (IFSC CODE: SIBL0000379) with THE SOUTH INDIAN BANK LTD., KESAVADASAPURAM, TRIVANDRUM.
How to Apply
The duly filled in application together with the following documents can be submitted directly at the College Office or through post.
- Self-Attested copy of the Certificate of Standard X for proof of Age.
- Self-Attested copy of the Mark list of the Qualifying Examination (12th / Equivalent).
- Self-Attested copy of the Admit Card of the Entrance Examination 2011.
- Self-Attested copy of the Mark list of the Entrance Examination.
- Stamp sized Photo to be affixed to the Application Form.
- Certificate from the Parish Priest in the case of LC and other X'tians.
- Self-Attested copy of caste certificate from Village Officer/ Tahsildar(in the case of SC/ST/Dalit X'tian candidates).
- Demand Draft / Details of Net Banking remittance (in the case of downloaded forms only). Write the name of the applicant on its back side.
Incomplete Application without the Bank Draft / Details of Net Banking remittance (in the case of downloaded forms) or any of the documents as specified above will be rejected in total and no further communication will be entertained.
